Fasching

CASH ONLY EVENT
Fasching, Germany’s “Karneval” (carnival) season, starts on the 11th day of November at exactly 11 minutes after 11am and ends at the stroke of midnight on Shrove Tuesday. It is often referred to as “Fat Tuesday” (the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday), and in German means “Fifth Season.”
The festive tradition can be traced to medieval times, where many countries existed under the harsh rules of kings and princes. During Karneval time, the common people took a chance at living it up and talking back to their rulers. To avoid persecution, their antics were played out from behind masks and costumes. Parades, dancing in the streets, masquerade balls, and comical skits filled the days and nights.

PGAC’s Fasching ball has been an annual tradition for many years and is known as a time of festivity and getting a little wild with friends. Exclusively for partiers aged 21 and older, it has been known to be a silly, kooky, nutty and raucous masquerade party featuring all 80s music. The fun-filled evening consists of dancing, a costume march and contest, games (such as a hula-hoop contest and a speed Bier drinking contest), and random silliness throughout the night. Pueblo locals truly become a feast for the eyes in their extravagant costumes, celebrating the variety of life and character we have in our community. Come dressed in your best costume and be prepared for a night of merrymaking and rambunctious revelry.
